Womb With a View

I'm an anomaly. I believe that I am a Thelemite. I'm a woman and if that wasn't enough, I'm older as well. Wiser? For sure. I don't adhere to any organization and there are is a plethora of reasons for that; looking to others for guidance only to be disappointed by their clay feet and their, well, the best word to describe it?

Bullshit.

Well disguised behind over inflated egos and incredible pompous attitudes but pomposity is always the last defense of the insecure.

Being forced to learn on my own, to gather my own conclusions. As a result?

Womb With a View was born. It is a section in progress; it will reflect the things I come to learn from life, from study and the never-ending search for knowledge. For Gnosis.

Personally? Don't much care if anyone agrees or wants to string me up; this is where I have to go for my own progress. This has been the elephant in my living room. It needs to be addressed. So dear visitor, read on or not as is your own will.

As Women get older, certain truths make themselves evident. Obviously, we are no longer hot babes. We are Ma'am in stores, if we get noticed at all. We don't worry about looking like Yummy Mommies when we head out to do the groceries. We don't hide our hair or faces in horror because we haven't put on our make-up or blown our hair dry.

There is this wonderful freedom attached. We are the dawn of a new breed of women. Women who don't die premature deaths from too many child births, too hard a life and of course, abuse.

We are a generation of women who are coming to understand that we have been treated unfairly by the men in our lives. We can't blame them; it is what was allowed, what was expected and what was ordered by the various religious and government institutions. Legal and socially acceptable subjugation.

Men aren't to blame - we allowed it. We permitted it. It was easier to be submissive than to fight. We lacked the education, we lacked the networking, the societies and the will to be anything but breeders, whores and servants.

Are we ready for the responsibilities inherent with being human beings? Are we willing to fight for our right to exist on equal footing with our Brothers?

And fight we will have to do. Not in the way of the 60's radical feminists but as equal partners, striving for the same level of learning, knowledge and truth that men have taken for granted for so long. And? In my opinion? Misused.

Everywhere we look - men dominate the various organizations, societies and government bodies. We can see the odd token woman who, for whatever reason, has beaten the odds to stand but by and large? We are still relegated to the back of the room. Offered platitudes and metaphorical pats on the head.

I don't want to see men become more like women. I don't want a man in touch with his feminine side. I have a feminine side, I don't need a pseudo one from my mate.

He was chosen because he was a man - not because he could pass for my sister.

Women can stand on equal footing with men and not lose sight of their sex. Our approach may seem radical to men at the outset but it isn't radical; it is simply different.

I look at male Thelemites and their claims to knowledge/Will but I don't understand why they don't question to a greater depth.

Men allow us into the foyer of their secret societies but never beyond. We are allowed to believe we are their Sorors but in reality? We will always be lesser than - we will always be 'only' women.

Is it because they are afraid that we may reveal that the emperor has no clothes? Do they know this on a deeper level and simply don't want to have their foolishness exposed?

We can be the Scarlet Woman - we can be the Whore of Babalon but only if we stay within the confines of a man's interpretation of that role.

If there is a New Aeon born? As a species we can no longer afford to feed the testosterone beast. He has had his time and has destroyed much of what has been given to us.
