W.I.P.A.
a reprise....

A few years back, there was an organization called W.I.P.A, an abbreviation for the West Island Pagan Association. This group was started by a couple of women who felt their needs were not met by the larger Montreal community.

It started well, with a bullet as the expression goes but like all bullets, it ran out of steam and fell to the earth. It grew too fast, too big and the founders were ill-prepared for the energy, patience and perserverance somethig like this required. Burn out occurred and egos sealed its fate.

Much was learned in the growth and implosion of the organization. The concept was good but the timing was terrible.

It seems that a reincarnation is in the cards for WIPA. Lessons learned will be applied and this time around? The warning signs will be heeded.

WIPA, at one time, provided a network of friends, colleagues. Social events happened and were a good deal of fun. The loss was certainly felt by the founders.

WIPA is going to, once again, do its best to offer a place for those who wish to be a part of it. Those who wish to learn, to share and to experience a place where they are welcomed. Once again, WIPA will offer a place to learn but slowly, carefully and with an eye to the future.
