Satanism; The Comedy

Satanic Satire

Introduction
or
Satanism; The Comedy

Is there any such thing as Black Magick?? That's usually a top 10 F.A.Q.

That's relative actually; relative to the individual. Magick doesn't really come in colours; Magick is intent and purpose. You can colour it anything you want; the usual pimply faced puberty types like black. Makes 'em feel, ya know..like all mysterious and evil and stuff.

Odds are pretty good that if any of them came in contact with an actual demon? They would be running up from their basements, to mommy, to clean their tidy whities.

The majority of requests put to self-professed witches or actual occultists, have to do with the employ of "black magick", are all too typical and lacking in originality; a spell to whammy a rival for a lover is annoyingly popular. Then there is the spell to punish a boss or other authority figure as another of the most common favours desired.

This isn't Black Magick per se. Its simply elementary manipulation toward an end, a selfish end but isn't Black Magick.

Black Magick is complex; it is dark and soul-ripping. And it doesn't take much to get the dabbler into trouble, real trouble. To think, regardless of the level of practice achieved by an Occultist, that something as powerful as a demon can be controlled by a human being is arrogance at its most dangerous.

That being said and human beings being what they are; the need to know is always paramount, danger is filed away and then its full speed ahead.

Crowley was accused, as a young man, upon first meeting Allan Bennett in 1899, of dabbling in the Goetia. Crowley denied the accusation, whereupon Bennett told him, in that case, the Goetia was meddling with him.

I'm inclined to agree with Mr. Bennett and the subsequent tragedies, scandals and eventual financial ruin of Aleister Crowley seems, on the outside, to substantiate the theory. Uncle Al was messing with things best left alone.

Black Magick, in modern society, is closely associated with Satanism and its adherents. A pretty serious insult to Magicians everywhere.

Satanists, by and large, are a strange and motley crew of the outcasts, the socially inept or the just plain confused. Modern Satanism is closely linked to a particularly distasteful snake oil salesman who had set up camp in California back in the late 50's and onward. Anton Lavey.

A human caricature if ever there was one but as silly as he seemed to be? He was also a walking, breathing dangerous con-man. (See: Exploding Lavey)

A quick peruse of his "Satanic Bible" is an abject lesson into bad plagiarism. His Satanic Bible is, simply, Thelema for Dummies. Not unlike Wicca but on the darker edge of things.

Due to past experiences and attempts at actual conversation; I find it very difficult to take any "Satanist" seriously.

I watched an interesting documentary on the musical genre of Heavy Metal. It was produced by a Canadian, Sam Dunn - Heavy Metal; A Headbangers Journey and I highly recommend it. There was a look at Norwegian brand of Black Metal. Interviews with some very unsavoury and some downright ridiculous characters from a variety of Black Metal Bands.

If you value your brain as a finely tuned instrument? You may be better off fast forwarding through the interviews, particularly the interview with Gaahl from Gorgoroth. The band itself, is pretty good for its type but I promise you, you will lose several points from your I.Q. if you listen to Gaahl or his contemporaries rant on about things they really, and quite obviously, know nothing about. These guys are prime examples of a little knowledge being dangerous and arrested development in the human male.

That bit is Gorgoroth. Told you, for their genre? They are pretty good. Not a band of brain surgeons, for sure but not bad as musicians.

If they could just keep away from interviews. You know the old expression, better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt; well, it couldn't be more applicable than in the cases of these men.

I've met a lot of would-be Satanists in my lifetime and most of them aren't worthy of a second conversation. No clue as to where their philosphies originate. No clue as to where the Satanic Bible came from or how it came to be.

For the most part, I have found them to be "rebels without a clue." Self-centered, scared little people trying to empower themselves through bullshit and plagiarism. More to be held up for pity than contempt. Not unlike their lighter than air counterparts, the Wiccans.

Modern Satanism is a sideshow, full of freaks. They aren't the purveyors of the Black Arts. Much of the whole Satanic culture is naught more than a collection of stunted intellects and "posers" to the Dark Gods. On second thought, ignore my previous warning to not watch Gaahl's interview. Watch it and you'll have a pretty good view into the average intelligence level of the Satanic cultist. Lower end of the gene pool and that pool is in desperate need of chlorination.
