Evil

Satanic Satire

Evil; a modern perspective?

Someone sent Baba an e-mail, enquiring about the existence or non-existence of evil. The letter itself was edited due to space considerations but essentially, the young woman was involved with a group of the "lighter than spun sugar" types. We all come from the Goddess and that sort of nonsense.

Evil. Does it exist? Of course it does. Can it be tapped in the same way that the Goddess dummies tap into the light? No brainer. Of course. Is it a wise practice?
Not unless you know what you are doing. Completely, with total confidence and knowledge.

Evil is intelligent. It is a master of disguise. Look at Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist lunatics. Talk to them and they are absolutely, unequivocably convinced they are on the side of right, light and god's way. To us dull normals, it seems quite evident that they are as far from light and the way of the gods as anyone could be. We would be right, actually.

These people promote hate and hate is the lifeblood of evil. In fact, these freaks claim their god hates. The only deities, of which I am aware, who thrive on this kind of hatred are black gods or rather the black side of the gods.

Deities are duality. They possess both light and dark, in balance. Problems start to crop up when people don't quite understand the concept of balance in all things.

List the attributes of evil and understand the ramifications of these things. Evil can hoodwink even the most righteous. Look at the pope. He thinks he is all that and a bag of chips. He actually believes that his organization is on the side of god, good and the only way to heaven.

Stop for a couple of seconds and look at the history of Christianity. Good is the last adjective that can be applied to that believe system. Phelps calls himself a Christian...Torquemada called himself a Christian. Scary stuff.

I think this is why the Satanists always give me a good belly laugh. They aren't operating on all pistons, I'm afraid. They have taken a good concept, a healthy spiritual concept and mucked it up. Men have a way of doing that.

Anton LaVey simply ripped off Thelema, screwed it up so that it fit with his personal agenda. It is superficial. Shallow and all together unworthy of anyone's notice, except the dull and stupid. And to me? Evil is also personified by dull and stupid. It can masquerade behind meta-speak and oooEEEooo scary imagery but it is still dull, still stupid.

Every man and woman is a star. Every man and woman carries godhead. Godhead is duality. Manifesting godhead is a very tricky operation. Balance, dear friends, balance in all things.

Godhead is duality. We all possess the capability of creating and attracting great evil. It isn't a being. It isn't the devil or demons per se. It is our manifestation through thought or (sighhh) practice that this evil gains a foodhold on our territory. In our lives, thoughts and doings. Just as love is around us, so is evil. Evil has an advantage though and one of which we should be absolutely aware - duplicity, glamours and trickery. Once it takes hold of the essential self? Good luck pulling out all the roots.

Does this mean that we can not use evil as a tool in our work? No. It simply means that when manifesting an aspect of evil - be it demon or projection - we have to be completely aware of what we are doing, what we are working with and the possible ramifications if we don't have our wits about us.

A hex is the manifestation of our need for revenge, vengeance; both completely human and understandable states of mind. Protection of hearth and home is our primary responsibility and if someone threatens or injures said hearth and home? All bets are off and you do what you have to do to ensure no further harm is done. If that means calling on the Darker Arts, the Darker side of Deity? So be it.

Is this, technically, evil? Of course it is. And because it is? Care is required and the evil has to be put back into balance afterward. There are ways to skirt the issues, of course. Use the tried and true ricochet method. However, with each ricochet? The darker aspects take a stronger hold on the individual and unless they have a clue (if they are perpetrating something evil against the family of an occultist or witch? It is fairly obvious that clue is a foreign concept.) the evil will continue.

Most people are, blissfully, unaware they are in an imbalance. The goodie-light fluffy bunnies for example. They are simply open invitations for fun and games to the darker side of existence. May as well have "Sucker" tattoo'ed to their foreheads but so too, those who play around with the darker aspects to the exclusion of lighter balance.

Evil can be a terrific tool when kept in balance and is known, in all its guises.

Evil has to be recognized. It has to be understood. Want to fool around with Witchcraft? Then get your head out of your ass and those stupid books. Learn what kind of responsibility is required. Watching the movie Charmed? Ain't going to do it.

You need a teacher, a mentor and when you're ready? When the powers that be, determine you are ready - the teacher or mentor will appear and not before. You may never be ready. Accept it. Maybe next time around...
